In a fresh study, Florian Muijres and CAnMove PIs Christoffer Johansson and Anders Hedenström show that
the high-lift flight mechanism used by for example bumlebees, and that previously was thought to be restricted to insects (and later also to bats) in fact also is used by normal hoverers, such as the slow flying pied flycatcher. The study is published online today in Biology Letters, and you can read more about it on the Animal Flight lab blog!
